Philosophy

1-The College believes in training professional nurses to meet the great challenges of service in the field of nursing. Professional nursing is a life-long service to the people and nursing must advance along with other health professions of society to be assured of a balance situation and problems critically and to take responsibility for their higher education for maximum professional effectiveness throughout their career

2-College of Nursing believes that Health is a state of well being that enables a person to lead a psychologically, socially and economically productive life. Health is not a privilege but a right of all the people. Individuals, families and communities have a responsibility towards maintaining their health. The prime objective of the college of nursing is to develop highly skilled Nursing Students. 

3-Nursing contributes to the health services in a vital and significant way in the health care delivery system. It recognizes national health goals and is committed to participate in the implementation of National health policies and programmes. It aims at identifying health needs of the people, planning and providing quality care in collaboration with other health professional and community groups.

4-Scope of nursing practice encompasses provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care to people across their life span in wide variety of health care setting. Practice of nursing is based upon application of basic concepts and principles derived from the physical, biological, behavioral sciences. 

5-Undergraduate nursing program at the post basic level is broad based education within an academic framework, which builds upon the skills and competencies acquired at the diploma level. It is specifically directed to the upgrading of critical thinking skills, competencies and standards and required for practice of professional nursing and midwifery as envisaged in National Health Policy, 2002.

6- The Nurse teachers have the responsibility to be role models and create learning environment that enables students to acquire inquiry driven, self directed learning and foster on attitude of lifelong learning. 

7-Under graduate nursing program at the post basic level prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all time in fulfilling personal, social & professional obligation so as to respond to National aspiration.

8-Furthermore, College believes in a system of nursing education that fits in with changing educational patterns of the country to meet the health needs of the society.
